- Ephedra lawsuits
There have been a surge in Ephedra lawsuits in America following the banning of a substance called Ephedra. Ephedra is a herbal form of the more widely known Ephedrine. This drug was sold across the counter and was used primarily in weight loss products. Following the ban, which happened in April 2005 it is estimated that over one hundred Ephedra lawsuits have been filed, with more in the pipeline. Ephedra was also known as Ma Huang, Metabolife, Xenadrine, Morman Tea or Desert Tea, all products have since been banned by the US government.
